Registering Multiple Copyrights
From LegalLanding
You can register multiple copyrights at the same time, as long as all of the works share all three of the following characteristics:
- Same type of creative work – the medium must be the same, i.e. photography, written word ect.
- Copyright ownership – the same person must own the rights to all the works filed jointly
- Copyright author – all works must be by the same person or exact same group of people. If the combination of collaboration is different for each of the works must be the same. For example, if A, B and C wrote a policy manual for company X. Additionally, A wrote an employment agreement, and B and C wrote the employment contract. Each work would have to be copyrighted separately. Even though A, B and C wrote the manual, in the other two documents not all three are collaborative authors.
For some types of media require an additional fee for multiple registrations such as daily newspapers and newsletters ($80). However, many media types do not have this requirement such as photography, music, and contributions to periodicals. If, however, the group of titles exceeds 10, there is an additional $30 charge for each subsequent group of ten titles. For example, if you register online ($35 base charge) 11 titles, your fee will be $65. If you register 17 titles, it is still $65. If you register 21 titles, the fee is $95.
